I am a Professor in the Department of Linguistics at Simon Fraser University. My teaching interests are syntactic theory, language typology, and Native American languages. My recent work includes research into the morphosyntax and semantics of Halkomelem, a First Nations language of British Columbia. I have also prepared educational materials for local bands and school. Other research interests include Korean syntax, especially the study of case, and applicatives in languages of the world. My research on Mapping Theory addresses the architecture of the morphology/syntax interface.
