SFU hosts First Nations witnessing ceremony highlighting reconciliation report calls to action

November 15, 2017

Simon Fraser University took a major step forward on the road to reconciliation this October when the SFU Aboriginal Reconciliation Council presented its final report to the University.

The report, Walk This Path With Us, was formally transferred to SFU President Andrew Petter in a traditional Coast Salish witnessing ceremony attended by First Nations and Metis peoples, government representatives, students, faculty, staff, and members of the broader community. The real work begins now as the University begins to move forward on implementation. The implementation of the recommendations will be guided by the principles of the ARC report.
