Each year our alumni provide financial assistance to current students in several areas:
Scholarships and Bursaries for Students
Almost 50% of students require financial assistance to complete their studies, yet many are turned away because funding is limited. Gifts to a scholarship or bursary, like the
Alumni Scholarship & Bursary Endowment Fund, helps financially struggling students cope with the costs of their education.
Library Resources
Books and journals are crucial for research and learning. As a young university, our library holdings are small. Gifts to the Alumni Library Endowment Fund continue to help build our collections and enhance the services offered to library users.
Special Initiatives (or Areas of Greatest Need)
Unrestricted funds provide flexibility for the future. To survive in times of rapid change, SFU must respond quickly to challenges and opportunities. Unrestricted gifts to the Alumni Special Initiatives Fund help the University adapt to urgent needs like replacing old equipment and updating technology.
