When you graduate, you automatically become a member of the SFU Alumni Association, a network of more than 120,000 graduates. Call for Nominations

The call for nominations for the SFU Alumni Association Board of Directors has now passed.  [View the Candidates]

Eligibility

Any member of the Association who has completed a Senate-approved degree, diploma, certificate or PDP at Simon Fraser University is eligible to serve on the Board. Candidates should be able to attend the majority of monthly Board meetings in person as well as committee meetings and special events. Candidates should also be willing and able to fulfill Board member roles and responsibilities

Nomination Form

At least one nominator is required who must be a member of the SFU Alumni Association. The completed nomination forms must be received by the Alumni Relations Office no later than 4:30pm (PST) Friday, April 5, 2013.

Elections

If no more than six nominations are received this year, Board members will be appointed by election. If more than six nominations are receive, there will be an election; all members of the Alumni Association are eligible to vote via the online voting system. Candidate information will be posted on the Alumni website.

A special “Meet the Candidates” reception will be held during the SFU Alumni Association’s Annual Gathering & General Meeting. Further details forthcoming.

A new vision for alumni

SFU and the Alumni Association have developed a new vision for alumni engagement which will chart our course over the next five years leading up to the university's 50th anniversary in 2015/16. The resulting vision and goals reflect what alumni say that they want from SFU and the Alumni Association, and how they want to engage with the university their fellow alumni. [Learn more]

The SFU Alumni Association represents the interests of SFU graduates worldwide. We are committed to keeping our alumni informed, involved and invested in the alumni community and the future of Simon Fraser University. Working closely with the University, we offer communications, events, benefits and services for our current and future alumni.
