Business in Vancouver - Forty Under 40
Rogayeh is the Co-Founder and CEO of data science firm Theory+Practice, which specializes in bringing advanced AI solutions to the financial services and retail industries. She is uniquely skilled in exploring how organizations can create true value from their data. Rogayeh received her MSc in experimental particle physics from SFU, and worked on the ATLAS Detector at CERN in Geneva. She earned her PhD in Economics and became fascinated with game theory and the behavioural patterns in social networks. She has worked with a number of non-profit agencies and social networks, including Engineers Without Borders. In addition to being named to the Business in Vancouver Top Forty Under 40 list, she is also the recipient of the 2020 Women of Influence - Ones to Watch Award.

CTO & Co-Founder, Beanworks
Reza is a computer engineering graduate of SFU and is the Co-Founder and CTO at Beanworks. Beanworks helps accounting teams to succeed by automating all their back office accounts payable processes. He is currently running the advanced research team. Prior to his current position, he worked in the bioinformatics industry at the BC Genome Science Center and in software security at Sophos.
COO, Victory Square Technologies
Vahid is a serial entrepreneur, mentor, philanthropist, and the current COO of Victory Square Technologies (VST). He holds a bachelor’s degree in applied science electrical engineering from SFU. As a former varsity SFU and Langara basketball player, he was selected to play on BC’s all-star team for the 1999-2000 and 2002-2003 seasons. In 2018, he cofounded Vancouver-based business accelerator VST, which focuses on scaling startups in cutting-edge tech sectors, with a special focus on immigrant and women-led businesses. At VST, he has guided funding and growth strategies for over 50 local businesses, helping generate over $700 million in contract value. Under his direction, VST has also given away over $10 million to charities supporting entrepreneurs, women and children.
Emilie de Rosenroll
CEO, South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP)
Emilie is the founding CEO of the South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP): a tri‐sector organization with over 70 members. SIPP is dedicated to championing sustainable and inclusive economic futures. Her economic development career has spanned both coasts and with over 15 years leadership experience she focuses on public‐private partnerships, business strategy, marketing, communications, governance, and operations. Emilie has lived in five Canadian provinces, as well as cities in USA, Europe and Mexico; she also speaks French and Spanish.
BCBusiness - 30 Under 30
Co-owner, Park & Fifth Clothing Co.
Brooke is co-owner of Park & Fifth Clothing Co., which specializes in modern bridesmaid, bridal and social occasion dresses. She specifically focusses on the finance, operations and branding side of the business. She graduated from the Beedie School of Business at SFU in 2014 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. During her time at SFU she studied abroad for a semester at Science Po Paris in the fall of 2012. Brooke’s career began at a small startup called the Vancouver Urban Winery during university and after she graduated, she secured a job at larger startup, Kit and Ace.
Surrey Board of Trade - Surrey's Top 25 Under 25
Account Executive, Procter & Gamble
Jasdeep is an Account Executive at Procter and Gamble. Born and raised in Abbotsford, when she came to SFU she didn’t know a single person. Determined to get out of her comfort zone, Jasdeep pursued opportunities that she knew would push her to grow. She lived on campus for her first year, joined a student club, and made new connections that opened up her network. Although the process at times was uncomfortable, she firmly believes that it drastically changed her experience at SFU. Jasdeep’s time at SFU taught her how to be confident and determined in her pursuits, and that learning continues to guide her today.

Team Lead, Government
Christie is a public service employee currently working in the federal government as an Information Management Team Leader. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University in 2018 and has since brought all that she’s learned from SFU’s Criminology and Co-op program into her public sector career while engaging her interests in policy and public safety. In addition, Christie is currently a member representing the Pacific Region on the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) Youth Council, where she works together with other federal employees across Canada to modernize the charitable campaign and increase participation from young public servants.

Shannon is a current SFU student who is working towards a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Psychology. She is Chair of the Canadian Federation of Fiji Organizations, and an Executive Director for Fiji Canada Professional Women’s Network Society and Miss Fiji Canada Cultural Society. Through these organizations, she aims to create opportunities, educate and empower youth, as well as fundraise for a number of charitable causes, both locally and internationally. Within the last year, in addition to Surrey Board of Trade’s Top 25 Under 25 Award, she has been honoured to receive Shakti Society’s Shakti Award of Volunteering, Drishti Media’s Youth Leadership Award and be an International Service Finalist for the SASSY Awards.

Samad is a recent communications graduate with a minor in business administration. During his time at SFU, he founded Emerge to make education more accessible and affordable for students worldwide. He is the VP External of the SFSS and the Student Senator, where he has undertaken projects such as the SFU Food Hub Program, and the Post Graduate Work Permit Extension Campaign.

Founder, Teifi Digital
Peter is the founder of Teifi Digital. Laying a foundation that focuses on the interactive and collaborative nature of work and innovation that he experienced as a Beedie School of Business student, he created a practice that focused on optimizing operational processes, enhancing marketing strategies, building and improving ecommerce platforms through data driven tools and technology for small and medium sized companies. Beedie was a milestone for him, a significant chapter in his life where he had the opportunity to learn and work alongside peers, industry professionals and professors who all offered mentorship and learnings that extended beyond the classroom.
