Call for Nominations - SFU Chancellor and Convocation Senators
The SFU Registrar has issued a call for nominations for Chancellor and four Convocation Senators on the University Senate. Deadline for receipt of nominations is 4:30 pm, February 28, 2008. Details and nomination forms at http://students.sfu.ca/elections/convo/index.html.
Alumni Association Board Nominates Brandt Louie for Chancellor
The SFU Alumni Association board of directors has unanimously nominated Brandt Louie for re-election to a second consecutive 3 year term as Chancellor of SFU. Mr. Louie is President and CEO of HY Louie and London Drugs and serves on several corporate and non-profit boards including the Royal Bank of Canada, the Asia Pacific Trade Council and the Neuroscience Canada Foundation. He served on the SFU Board of Governors from 2000 - 2005 including three years as Chair. He also chaired SFU's Reaching New Heights 40th anniversary capital campaign which raised over $130 million for SFU. Brandt has been Chancellor since 2005 and has helped make exciting advancements possible including the opening of the Surrey campus and development of the new School for the Contemporary Arts in downtown Vancouver. Alumni Board of Directors Seeks New Members
The Alumni Association is seeking nominations for new members of its volunteer Board of Directors. Three year terms begin June 2008 to May 2011. Nominations due by 4:00 pm Monday, April 7, 2008.
