Alumni are invited to help shape the future of SFU by answering 10 questions that will lead to a strategic vision that enhances the university's strengths and reputation. [Learn more] A Meaningful Volunteer Opportunity: Call for Nominations If you're looking for a rewarding volunteer role where you can represent your fellow alumni and help advance the future of Simon Fraser University and the next generation of students and alumni, we invite you to consider this leadership opportunity. The SFU Alumni Association is seeking nominations for new members of its volunteer Board of Directors. Nominations are due by 4:30pm, Thursday, April 7, 2011. Voting will take place at the annual general meeting on May 25th. [Learn more] Record Donation Establishes Beedie School of Business at SFUSFU alumnus, Ryan Beedie, BBA '91, and his father, Keith, have donated $22-million to SFU's faculty of Business. The largest gift in SFU's history will be used to create an endowment supporting students, professorships, and research chairs. Daniel Shapiro, Dean of the newly named Beedie School of Business, says the gift will help make the school a global thought leader in areas such as innovation and entrepreneurship. [Learn more] [View Ryan's profile] Celebrating SFU Authors: Invitation to Submit Publications A reception to mark the accomplishments of SFU authors, including alumni, will be held on March 22, 2011 from 3:30pm to 5:00pm in the W.A.C. Bennett Library’s Special Collections and Rare Books room. This celebration of SFU faculty, students, staff and alumni authors is co-sponsored by the SFU Library and the SFU Bookstore. Alumni authors are invited to submit their publications via the online survey before February 15th. [Learn more] Looking for work? Underemployed? Join the Job Finding Club! Are you an upcoming or recent Master’s-level grad? Unemployed or under-employed? Working in a sector that’s unrelated to your area of expertise? If you’re committed to finding full-time work, then the Job Finding Club may be for you. This FREE two-week (Apr 26 – May 8) full-time crash course arms you with the skills necessary to execute a successful job search. Application deadline: March 9.
