Obi Borvonan SFU's Olympic Torch Bearer Welcomes The World
The winner of SFU’s Olympic torchbearer contest is third-year student Borvonan (Obi) Vattanawong. Originally from Thailand, Vattanawong moved to Vancouver in 2006 and is currently a student in SFU’s School of Interactive Arts and Technology. He won his spot in the relay by producing a short video, World of Opportunities, highlighting SFU’s impact on his life. Obi will carry the Olympic flame atop SFU'S Burnaby Mountain campus tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 11.  [Watch Obi's Video] [See the Torch at SFU!]

SFU Venues Transformed For Olympic Spectators
SFU's Vancouver campus facilities have opened their doors to the World and will be home to several international delegations, and host of Robert LePage's The Blue Dragon - part of the Cultural Olympiad. The transformation has brought some exciting additions to the buildings, particularly the $1 million gold coin that's occupying the Segal Graduate School of Business, which is the new exhibition space for the Royal Canadian Mint.
