We are pleased to bring you highlights of the latest happenings at SFU and within our alumni community.
ALUMNI & CAMPUS NEWS  Alumni and Friends Event: Vancouver Whitecaps GameSaturday, April 13, 2013: We are happy to invite SFU alumni, along with their family and friends to watch a Vancouver Whitecaps soccer match. Tickets are only $25 (taxes/fees included) and are for the white and teal sections - a savings of $13. This is a great event that is family-friendly, affordable and fun. One alumni will be selected to participate in a post-match penalty kick contest! The Whitecaps will ensure that SFU alumni will sit together so we can cheer together and have a chance to sneak in some networking. [Learn more] Creating a Remarkable Career: What I Wished I Knew When I was 25 April 10, 2013: What would you do if you could see out into the future, rewind your career and replay it in order to ensure you maximize success and minimize regrets? To help gain insight, the SFU Alumni Association is hosting an event where three diverse speakers who have created remarkable careers for themselves will present and participate in a panel discussion. This is a perfect learning and networking event for alumni who have graduated in the last five years. [Learn more]  SFU Clan Golf Tournament April 8, 2013: Enjoy 18 holes of golf, games, hole prizes, food, and more at the SFU Golf Clan Classic; a fun event that supports the Men’s and Women’s golf teams, providing funds for scholarships and bursaries. This year’s event will be played at the renowned Vancouver Golf Club, host to the 2012 LPGA CN Canadian Women’s Open. [Learn more] Café Scientifique – The Science Behind Vaccination Wednesday, March 20: Everyone is welcome to attend this event featuring experts from SFU who will address the research, outcomes and scientific basis behind vaccination. The event will be held at the CBC Studio in Vancouver moderated by Stephen Quinn, host of CBC radio’s “On the Coast”. [Learn more] .JPG) Involvement Opportunity: SFU Alumni Association Board of DirectorsThe SFU Alumni Association is calling for nominations of candidates to serve on their Board of Directors; candidates must have completed a Senate-approved degree, diploma, certificate, or PDP at SFU. This is an excellent opportunity to help advance the goals of SFU and the Alumni Association while representing the voice of your fellow alumni. Nomination deadline is April 6, 2013 at 4:30 PM (PST).
