Wanted: Outstanding Alumni NomineesIf you know an SFU graduate who deserves recognition for their extraordinary achievements, we want to hear from you. Nominations are being accepted until Monday, July 5, 2010 for the 27th annual SFU Outstanding Alumni Awards. Award categories include: professional, academic, arts & culture, athletics, public service, service to the community, and service to the university. [Learn more] Introducing Your New Alumni Association Board of Directors Elections were held for six new Board positions during the SFU Alumni Association's Annual Gathering and General Meeting, May 27 at SFU's Harbour Centre campus. We congratulate the following alumni who have joined the Board to serve the needs and interests of our graduates: Ian Davis, Dale Flood (incumbent), Kalpna Mangat, Cailey Murphy, Armita Seyedalikhani, and Greg Taylor. [View Board Member Profiles]  Making A Difference: Alumni Day Of Service StoriesWhether it be cleaning up beaches, assisting with animal care, or helping the elderly, SFU alumni made an impact in their communities during the first annual SFU Alumni Day of Service, Sunday, June 6, 2010. The Alumni Association Board of Directors thanks all grads who participated and who continue to serve in their communities. Thank you for "thinking of the world"! [Read volunteer testimonials] New Support For SFU Graduate Students The Michael Stevenson Legacy Endowment Fund has been created to provide graduate student scholarships for generations to come.The Fund's establishment honors the tremendous contribution to the university and surrounding communities that Dr. Michael Stevenson has given during his 10-year term as SFU’s longest-standing president. The goal is to raise an endowment of $500,000 prior to Dr. Stevenson's retirement gala, June 24. [Learn more]  SFU Summer CampsGot kids? The 15th Annual Clan Classic Golf Tournament celebrates the start of a new era in the NCAA and pays tribute to President Michael Stevenson and his years of support for golf at SFU. Proceeds from the July 14th event at Northview Golf & Country Club in Surrey benefit student-athletes in the SFU varsity golf program. Reserve your spot today. [Learn more]  Gathering Of The Clan: SFU Athletics BreakfastSFU Athletics' premiere fundraising event of the year takes place the morning of June 29, 2010 with a breakfast featuring such sporting icons and SFU grads as Jay Triano (coach of the Toronto Raptors) and Lui Passaglia (former BC Lion). 100 per cent of the proceeds from the breakfast will go directly towards athletic scholarships at Simon Fraser University, and the event will provide an excellent opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their fellow Clan members.
