SFU Alumni Update E-Newsletter: Summer editionDocument Tools We are pleased to bring you highlights of the latest happenings at SFU and within our alumni community. This will be our last issue for the summer, and we'll return to your inbox in September! ALUMNI & CAMPUS NEWS SFU Seeks Orientation Mentors for New StudentsOver 2,500 new students will be introduced to university through the Discover SFU New Student Orientation program. Students will form small clans (groups) led by an upper-year student and paired with a staff, faculty or alumni mentor. Mentors will meet with a clan for one hour on August 29 to answer student questions and to share advice to help them succeed. These sessions provide an informal opportunity for students to learn about life at SFU, and to become inspired about the various opportunities they have both during their studies and after graduation. This is the third year that the Five Hole For Food (FHFF) tour is tackling hunger in a 13-city coast-to-coast road trip ending July 21st. The team sets up drop-in ball-hockey games at each stop and people are invited to bring their hockey sticks to play. It’s free to participate, and players are asked to bring a cash donation or a non-perishable good for their local food bank.
