ALUMNI & CAMPUS NEWS Announcing the 2010 SFU Outstanding Alumni Award Winners  The SFU Alumni Association is pleased to announce the 2010 SFU Outstanding Alumni Award recipients: Mr. Norman Armour, BA '87 - Arts and Culture Ms. Mae Burrows, BA '72, MA '96 - Service to the Community Mr. Jim Chu, BBA '86 - Public Service Dr. Alan Rugman, PhD '75 - Academic Achievement Awards will be presented Februrary 10, 2011 at the Outstanding Alumni Awards dinner event. [Learn more]  Alumni Association Helps Those In Need SFU alumni are invited by the SFU Alumni Association Board of Directors to help raise a record amount of food for families in need during the holidays. In person or online donations of food and cash are welcome Dec 6-10. Thank you to our community partners SFU Surrey Campus, SFU Young Women in Business (YWiB), the Surrey Food Bank, and CFOX Santa Fox Food Drive. This is our chance to show that SFU alumni are truly "thinking of the world", including those in need in our local communities. Thanks for your support! Maclean’s magazine’s 2010 university rankings again place SFU first among Canada’s 12 comprehensive universities, a position it has held eight times since the rankings began 20 years ago—more than any other university. Consider sharing your expertise and experience at SFU's 11th Annual Leadership Summit, held at the Burnaby Campus on Jan 22, 2011. This annual one-day conference is designed for SFU students who wish to explore their own leadership development, explore the topic of leadership, social change and citizenship, and learn from a range of presenters. Alumni are invited to submit proposals to facilitate speaker sessions covering a wide range of leadership skills and topics.
