1. Alumni Survey - Summer 2007
SFU and the Alumni Association are conducting an alumni survey to learn more about the wants, needs, and opinions of our graduates. If you are selected as part of our random sample and are sent an invitation to participate, we encourage you to take a few minutes to tell us what you think. Your feedback, whether positive or negative, will enable us to make plans for the future and improve our programs and services for alumni. Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts! 2. SFU Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament - September 11, 2007
Registrations and sponsorships are now being accepted for the SFU Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament on Tuesday, September 11 at the Swan-e-Set Country Club in Pitt Meadows, BC. Format: Texas scramble, 4 players per team. All alumni and friends of SFU are welcome. Registration includes golf, lunch, banquet dinner, and prizes. 3. Alumni Lifetime Email - Improved Spam Filtering
SFU's Alumni Lifetime Email (ALE) service now offers improved spam filtering. After July 15, ALE users should see a dramatic reduction in the amount of spam they receive. Using a spam rating system, the new filter will automatically discard messages with a spam rating of 10 or higher before it reaches your in box. Only messages scoring below 10 will be delivered, and anything rated over 3.5 will be marked as spam for your convenience. Find out more about the free Alumni Lifetime Email service at www.sfu.ca/alumni/alumni_perks/email_faq.htm

5. SFU Library Switches to Email Notification
Beginning in August 2007, the SFU Library will be using email for all notices to SFU alumni library users. The library will no longer be maintaining their own list of alumni email addresses. To ensure you receive library notices, your current email address must be on file with SFU's Alumni Relations Office. You can update your email address or any other contact information whenever it changes at www.sfu.ca/alumni/forms/address_update.html

6. SFU Changes Phone Numbers - 778.782.XXXX
To accommodate continued growth at our campuses, SFU phone numbers will be changing to a new area code and prefix this summer. Phone numbers that currently have area code 604 and start with 291 will change to area code 778 and start with 782. SFU Vancouver campus numbers switch over July 16. Burnaby campus numbers change in August. Some SFU units, including SFU Surrey, the Library, and Alumni Relations, have already made the change. Not sure which number to use?
