1. Discover SFU Open House - June 3
Curious to know what's been happening at SFU lately? Looking for a convenient opportunity to visit the campus and see how it's changed over the years? Join us on June 3 for DISCOVER Simon Fraser University, a one-day event showcasing SFU as an exciting locus of learning, teaching and research, and as a major contributor to its surrounding communities. The Burnaby campus will host an information and education fair with 100+ interactive displays. Events and activities will be presented throughout the day, including plenty of entertainment, food, and fun for the kids.
Be sure to stop by the carnival in Convocation Mall to visit the Alumni Photo Booth. And check out the new Diamond Alumni Centre for lunch and a special Alumni Philosophers' Cafe to follow. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2006 Outstanding Alumni Awards. If you know an SFU graduate who deserves recognition for their extraordinary achievements, please let us know. Categories include: professional, academic, arts & culture, athletics, public service, service to the community, and service to the university. 7. SFU Summer 2006 Camp Programs
Registration has started for the SFU Summer Camp Programs for kids and teens ages 5 and up. Choose from a wide variety of camps including: sports, outdoor adventure, aquatics, music, and specialty camps like mini-university, computers, video production and Science Alive. 8. Thank You Alumni Donors
You gave over $520,000 for the 2005/06 Alumni Annual Appeal, breaking last year's fundraising record of $478,780. Close to half of all previous donors increased their giving this year. We also received terrific support from new alumni donors, many of whom had their gifts matched dollar-for-dollar by the SFU Alumni Association. On behalf of all the students you are helping, thank you for your wonderful support!
