In 2010, Richard Loat founded Five Hole For Food and drove across Canada playing road hockey in 9 cities to create awareness and collect donations for local food banks. Thanks to hard work, determination, and passion, FHFF has grown into an organization with more than 45 volunteers that now visits 13 cities annually and has raised over 500,000 pounds of food since its inception. Richard continues to make a difference in communities across Canada year after year during times when food banks typically have low stock. And, most recently, he launched Footy for Food in the UK, taking his idea and making it happen across the pond. The global development of his Sport for Food project is one that is reaching into major football countries around the world as he taps into the national passions for sport to tackle hunger globally.
