Moe Mahjoub

PhD (MBB) ,  2007
BSc Hons (Bio),  2002

Moe Mahjoub is currently a faculty member at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He is working to understand the etiology of polycystic kidney disease (PKD). Work that Moe did while a PhD student at SFU helped to uncover the important role of defects in the cellular organelles known as cilia in the formation of PKD. Approximately one in one thousand Canadians is affected by PKD and there is currently no cure - dialysis and kidney transplantation are the only real options. It's thanks to hard working researchers like Moe that there is hope towards finding a cure for those individuals and their families that are impacted by PKD. Thank you for all of your dedication towards finding a cure, Moe!
