In 2007, Gregory Malpass, Founder and CEO of Traction On Demand, a CRM consulting and software development firm, set out to build a company that allows “more time to play”. It is a philosophy that he has instilled in his 80-member team, and which guides employees in terms of client service delivery.
A huge part of Traction’s success has been Greg’s talent for finding the right employee and building a role around that person. His focus on making family and happiness top priorities has resulted in company positions such as Manager of Office Happiness.
Embracing Greg’s attitude of “git’erdun”, employees will tell you that they have never worked harder, been happier, or worked for a person or a company of whom they are more proud. In return, Greg takes the time daily to show his gratitude for a team that works so hard to support him.
Greg’s commitment to leading by example in the office extends to the community. Traction for Good, a department within Traction dedicated to community involvement and charitable contributions that reflect the social values close to the hearts of its employees and clients, has led to: pro-bono Salesforce.com implementations for non-profit organizations; corporate giving to a variety of organizations such as the Sarah McLachlan School of Music and KidSafe; and countless employee-driven volunteer hours and fundraising efforts for organizations such as the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Respected by peers, clients, and most importantly staff, Gregory Malpass is an awesome example of a CEO that lives his values.
