Krissi has always been a compassionate leader with a social conscience, and nowhere is this more illustrated than her dedication to the people of Sierra Leone. She is the founder of the Canadian registered charity called The People's Foundation of Sierra Leone (www.tpfsl.org), which she started in 2009 just before starting her studies at SFU. The organization envisions the development of Sierra Leone taking place through the actions of dedicated and passionate youth who will become community mentors and leaders in the rebuilding of their country and the elimination of poverty through achieving their educational goals. She is changing the future of Sierra Leone one youth at a time. She was one of three women who were recently recognized at the International Women's Day Luncheon sponsored by the Rotary Club of Langley Central.
Krissi inspires me to encourage and further motivate students to achieve their life goals, to make a difference wherever they are to positively influence their environment and affect change that will be felt around the world.
