Manny Padda is an entrepreneur, teacher, and philanthropist based in Vancouver B.C., where he has been involved in the start-up of several successful companies. He is an alumnus of Simon Fraser University, completing his BBA (Honours) and achieving his MBA from Queen’s University.
As an entrepreneur himself, he has a passion for providing support to young entrepreneurs and start-ups. In 2013, Manny empowered over 60+ aspiring student entrepreneurs involved in Enactus SFU's SFU Entrepreneur of the Year program to change the world with their entrepreneurial mentality. His thoughtful contribution led him to become the Gold Sponsor of the 6th Annual SFU Entrepreneur of the Year Competition and the 2nd Annual Jumpstart Accelerator; however, his insights and experiences as a success entrepreneur were more invaluable to the students involved.
Manny Padda is currently the Managing Director of New Avenue Capital. New Avenue Capital is an Investment & VC firm which provides capital to growing businesses through debt and equity transactions. The company currently has a global portfolio of investments within a variety of industries including education, domestic and international real estate, technology, mining, and recruitment.
Manny is also Founder of KeyStep Recruitment and Managing Director PM Search Partners. Regarded as a trusted advisor to a number of firms, he has successfully built a team in Vancouver, Toronto, London, and Asia. He has experience in over 26 countries, working with companies such as Aritzia, Blast Radius BHP Billiton, BC Hydro, bcIMC, Capstone Mining, Disney, Electronic Arts, Newmont Mining Corporation, New Gold, Pan American Silver, PWC, Quadra/FNX, Rogers, Telus, and Vale.
Manny stays connected with the community and is active in education and charitable organizations. He has taught at Simon Fraser University in the areas of Strategy and Human Resources and has presented on topics including career advancement, managing relationships, and business development. He currently sits on a number of advisory boards in the mining, education and not for profit sector.
