BA Hons (Econ), 1992
Glenn Berg graduated in 1992 with an honours degree in economics. In 1993, he furthered his education with a MA in economics at McMaster University.
In 1994, the technology sector was in its infancy. Glenn recognized this growing sector and became certified with several leading technology companies such as Microsoft and Novel.
For the past 15 years, Glenn has worked at Microsoft. His current role is the Government Industry Manager for Canada. In this role, he represents the needs and directions that local and regional governments in Canada to Microsoft globally. Glenn also localizes global programs for Microsoft and assist partners with Government solutions to expand internationally or for International partners to establish a presence in Canada.
Glenn regularly uses economics to analyze government reports on what they are trying to accomplish in the economy and business sector. He bridges the gap between government and industry so that his company can supply what they need for future success.
Glenn has created the Super-Duper Chosen Few Award for current SFU Economics honours students. He was employed throughout his honours degree and was an entrepreneur with his own landscaping business to put himself through University. Glenn understands firsthand the challenges of working and being involved in the community, while completing an honours degree.
This award recognizes student’s participation in extracurricular activities while achieving academic excellence.
