Betsy Gibbons recently retired from her 40-year career in the human capital and executive search business, most recently as partner and executive search professional at Korn Ferry. Testimonials abound regarding the quality of her business interactions, service and responsiveness to an international clientele.
Though retired from the corporate world, Betsy’s commitment to the society in which she thrives continues via a profound commitment to volunteerism and leadership roles. Betsy is Board Chair for the Health Employers Assn of BC, joining the board in 2007; Director and Governance Committee Chair for Provincial Health Services Authority, between 2007 and 2015; with other involvements including President and Director of BC HRMA, Director Canadian Healthcare Association, Board Director between 1998 and 2007 including serving as Board Chair for BC Women’s Hospital and Health Center Foundation, Board Director between the mid 1990’s and 2010 including serving as Board Chair for SFU's External Advisory Board to the Faculty of Business Administration, Member of BC Judicial Council from 2002 to 2010 and the only lay person on a Council otherwise composed of legal experts.
Awards include the global level 2013 Association of Executive Search Consultants Eleanor H. Raynolds award for significant contributions to the executive search industry and for community contribution; and Honorary Life Membership at HRMA, bestowed upon those who have made an outstanding contribution to the human resources field.
Concurrently Betsy successfully juggles a large family, being a grandmother, nurturing a beautiful garden in a challenging nature setting, travel with her husband, many friendships and ongoing mentorship.
