Jenna Bedore studied Sustainability Planning in the School of Resource and Environmental Management. Specifically, she completed a policy evaluation of Canada’s environmental sustainability planning system. She is worked with Tom Gunton, REM’s Director of Planning to determine if Canada’s revised system meets international best practices. The primary goal of her research was to identify the strengths and weakness of the current environmental sustainability planning system, and make recommendations for improvement.
As a gradate student in REM, Jenna had the opportunity to work on a number of exciting projects. As the President of the Canadian Association of Planning Students, she and several of her colleagues delivered a conference comprised of keynote presentations, panel discussion groups, mobile tours, professional development workshops and student presentations to over 200 student and professional delegates from across Canada in February 2012. Additionally, as a graduate student in REM’s planning stream, she had the opportunity to work as a researcher and writer for the 4th edition of Professor Mark Roseland’s reference book, “ Towards Sustainable Communities: Solutions for Citizens and Their Governments”.
