Incan Textile Fragment

Incan Textile Fragment

Artifact #
Isn't this neat? If you look at the central designs very carefully, you will see they are intertwined snakes. All the spaces of the textile are filled - so that there is not 'extra' or background space. A modern artist who did these kinds of work was M.E. Escher. Can you find other examples of this kind of art? Can you draw your own?
