Project Objectives :
The primary research objectives of the Elfin Lakes to Mamquam Lake heritage site inventory project were:
1) Conduct as complete as possible, systematic ground surface survey within areas of the permit application.
2) To properly record and assess the heritage significance of identified sites and attempt to determine their relative age and function based on surface archaeological materials.
3) To reconstruct a archaeological related glacial, post glacial, geomorphic history of the study area, and outline how these associated processes affect site visibility.
4) Model pre-contact resource use of the study area by identifying flora and fauna species present and relating this to ethnographic, archaeological and paleo-environmental data, from available contexts.
