Jaw-dropping art show
When people walk into a new Audain Gallery exhibit opening today in the new downtown location of SFU Contemporary Arts, they’ll feel as though they’re walking into an altered world. They will see moving large-scale projections of international cities that will transform the gallery in the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts into a virtual exposé of the often hidden dimensions of urban dwelling. Terence Gower, an internationally known artist and one of the exhibitors in The Long Take: Videos on Architectural and Social Space, will lead a public discussion of the show at 6:30 p.m. The show opens at 8 p.m. and runs Jan. 13 to Feb. 29. SFU Contemporary Arts marketing director Lenore Swenerton can connect media with the artists.

What is next in leadership races?

SFU political scientist Marjorie Griffin Cohen, one of our Friday B.C. leadership race round-up experts, doesn’t think the B.C. Conservatives stand a chance in the next provincial election. For Friday roundup commentary of what the week’s developments in the provincial Liberal and NDP leadership races mean, stay in touch with our race watchers. They are Griffin Cohen, Gary Mauser, Lindsay Meredith and Kennedy Stewart.
