David Lam passes away
Former B.C. Lieutenant-Governor David Lam is dead at the age of 87. As the first ethnic Chinese lieutenant-governor in Canadian history, he leaves behind a rich and impressive legacy, including SFU’s David Lam Centre for International Communication. Paul Crowe is the centre’s director and can talk about Lam’s vision for the organization, which focuses on building intercultural understanding and developing relationships with stakeholders in Canada and Asia.

Fresh face goes for premiership
Her name raises more questions than eyebrows, largely because she is unknown, but that hasn’t stopped Vancouver-Langara MLA and cabinet minister Moira Stilwell from kicking off the B.C. Liberal leadership race. Stilwell announced this morning she’s resigning from her position as minister of regional economic and skills development so she can run in her party’s leadership race. SFU political marketing expert Lindsay Meredith says this latest development in the leadership race makes him think of the book, Alice In Wonderland. “It’s getting curiouser and curiouser.”
