Infrastructure tops budget plans
Spending on infrastructure – as much as $7 billion - to stimulate jobs and the economy will highlight an economic stimulus plan when the federal budget is unveiled tomorrow. Today’s thrown speech outlines immediate cash for infrastructure and help for struggling industries – as companies from auto makers to technology firms cut their workforce  - as well as the poor, unemployed and aboriginals. SFU experts can provide comment, including Peter Hall (centre for sustainability) and business analyst Lindsay Meredith on infrastructure spending, business professor Peter Tingling on corporate downsizing srategies and economics professor emeritus Richard Lipsey on Canada’s economic future.
