Labour leaders watch budget
Today’s Conservative budget will be closely watched by federal labour leaders, hopeful that the government will nix its controversial plans to legislate wage controls and rollbacks on its public servants. Union leaders have formally asked the government to reconsider such plans. SFU labour historian Mark Leier – one of several SFU experts watching today’s budget announcement - can assess the budget’s impact on workers and the labour market in general.
