The cost of transportation
A vehicle tax up to $100 is one of several options that TransLink is considering to raise more money to pay for Metro Vancouver’s roads, bridges and public transit system. Anthony Perl, director of SFU’s Urban Studies Program, and an expert on the politics of transportation system policy development, can comment on the wisdom of TransLink’s options.

Online shopping dropping off
Recent studies show that 28 per cent of online purchases are ending in failure. That has prompted some major department story chains to say they plan to stop offering the service. Dianne Cyr, an SFU associate professor of business, says international indicators reveal that online shopping is actually on the rise. Cyr has advice on what retailers should be doing to ensure online shopping is successful.
