Hot pipers on ice
SFU’s Pipe Band is hot after winning its sixth world pipe band title - and its second straight world championship - in Scotland and they will be cool on ice as they perform during the Vancouver Canucks home opener on Monday, Oct. 5 just prior to the puck drop. Pipers and drummers at center ice in a darkened General Motors Place playing a brand new musical composition will be joined by pods of pipers and drummers in various locations around “the garage.” The tune will also be heard throughout the upcoming season.
