Pathways to housing – for the homeless
Homelessness in Vancouver has become a key issue as the city moves closer to hosting the Olympic Games in February. Sam Tsemberis, founder of Pathways to Housing, will add to the discussion when he speaks at SFU’s Surrey campus on ending homelessness and transforming lives, at the inaugural mental health and additions lecture on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Westminster Savings Credit Union Room 2600.

Tsemberis founded New York’s Pathways to Housing in 1992. The program serves people who are homeless and diagnosed with severe psychiatric disabilities and co-occurring addiction disorders, offering immediate access to permanent independent apartments, and intensive off-site clinical and support services. He will talk on the program’s philosophical approach as well as research evidence.
