The case of a Chilliwack teacher charged with alleged sex crimes against two elementary school students is rekindling debate about how teachers are sensitized to avoid what could be seen as inappropriate contact with students. David Paterson, a senior lecturer in education and past president of the Canadian Counselling Association, can shed light on the delicate issues surrounding this debate and teachers’ training about them.
