Ash clouds from erupting Mount Bromo in Bali have prompted Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines to cancel scheduled flights to the region. SFU volcanologist Glyn Williams-Jones studies volcanic formation, structure and activity. He says the impact of the Bali eruption on air travel is very similar to the news-headlining problems associated with last year’s Icelandic volcanic eruption.
