Stock markets take plunge
Growing fears of a U.S. recession are sending stock markets plummeting. SFU economist Richard Harris can comment on investors response to the U.S. economic downturn. Colleague David Andolfatto, an assistant professor of economics can also talk about the impact of recession fears.

Where haggis and dragons meet
SFU’s annual Gung Haggis Fat Choy Festival, one of the most anticipated events of the winter semester, will liven up Convocation Mall on Thursday, Jan. 24. The festival combines the traditional Scottish holiday of Robbie Burns Day with a multicultural twist, and creative competitions – from human curling (beginning at 11:30 a.m.) to dragon car races and haggis eating.
