March 28, 2008
SFU Contemporary Arts music professor Owen Underhill, an award-winning Canadian composer, is saddened by today's announcement that North America's last remaining radio orchestra, the CBC Symphony Orchestra, will soon be disbanded. He has had a "very long relationship" with the orchestra, both as a conductor and as a composer. He is available to speak about what this cut will mean to the Canadian cultural scene and to opportunities for Canadian composers to have their work produced.
