According to a new Angus-Reid poll, more than half of people in Atlantic Canada, British Columbia and Alberta, believe Canadians are an angrier lot than they were last year. The respondents were among 1,005 people who participated in an online national survey. Twenty seven per cent of the respondents nationally admitted that they lose their temper more often than one year ago. Ehor Boyanowsky, a professor of criminology emeritus who has researched the causes of anger extensively, can comment on why Canadians are getting more angry, particularly in Alberta and on the west and east coasts. Boyanowsky says, “Anxiety translates into anger and technology driven instantaneous communication and harder economic times are making people more anxious.”
