Sustainable living - just do it

Cooperation furthers higher education
Yesterday's announcement by the provincial government that Kwantlen University College will be given university status next year is welcome news to Surrey's other university, Simon Fraser University. Far from being rivals, the two institutions collaborate in a number of areas, including first nations education, science programs and research. The cooperation, which began when the SFU Surrey campus was established a few years ago, has now been formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding. Sarah Dench, SFU's institutional liaison and Rob Fleming, associate vice president academic at Kwantlen, can comment on how SFU and Kwantlen are working together to further higher education south of Fraser.
