The recent murder of six people in a Surrey apartment has brought the issue of Indo-Canadian gang warfare into the public eye again. What attracts male adolescents to the dangerous, short-lived gang life? That's the subject of Daaku, a novel by local author Ranj Dhaliwal who is familiar with the gang culture. Dhaliwal will be reading from Daaku at Simon Fraser University's Surrey campus tonight at 7 p.m. The free reading is part of SFU's week-long South Asia Festival.
