It’s not easy being green - as B.C. politicians and businesses have
discovered.
At an SFU President’s Forum at the Wosk Centre for Dialogue on Wednesday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m., Jaccard, along with Tamara Vrooman, CEO, Vancity and Bob Elton, CEO, B.C. Hydro, will discuss ‘green’ implications for businesses, the economy and the environment. Jaccard will share his views on compulsory policies with key business leaders attending the discussion.
Jaccard, a professor of resource and environmental management at SFU, has spent two decades examining Canada’s climate change issues.
The author of the award-winning book Sustainable Fossil Fuels: The Unusual Suspect in the Quest for Clean and Enduring Energy (2005), and Hot Air: Meeting Canada’s Climate Change Challenge (with Jeffery Simpson and Nic Roberts, 2007), Jaccard is currently a member of the National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy and is a special advisor to the Premier’s Climate Action Team.
Jaccard is former chair and CEO of the B.C. Utilities Commission and has served on the International Panel on Climate Change.
Media are welcome to attend, but seating is limited. Please call 778.782.5010 to ensure a seat.
