It’s graduation time across Canada and Simon Fraser University is awarding top scholarships worth between $24,000 and $34,000 to a record number of outstanding high school students.

The 48 winners were selected by an eight-member scholarship review committee from hundreds of outstanding applicants nominated by high school counselors from across the country. In addition to having a high grade point average, major scholarship winners also demonstrate outstanding leadership skills and community involvement.

SFU will award more than $3 million in entrance scholarships for the 2007/08 academic year, including automatic entrance scholarships ranging from $3,500 to $5,000 to students graduating with a grade point average of 90 per cent or higher.
