SFU stakes its claim at the Vancouver International Film Festival

Simon Fraser University Contemporary Arts students and alumni are once again well represented among the featured filmmakers at this year’s Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), Sept. 25 to Oct. 10.
“For three decades, SFU has helped produce some of this country’s most committed and innovative filmmakers,” says film professor Colin Browne. “We look forward to building on that reputation when the School for the Contemporary Arts moves to its new home at the Woodward’s site in downtown Vancouver next year.”
VIFF participants with SFU links include:
SFU Contemporary Arts, offering training programs in film, dance, music, theatre, visual arts, and art and culture studies, will relocate to the historic Woodward’s site—the largest urban revitalization project in BC—in the fall of 2009. The new arts facility will host a broad range of cultural events, and promises to become a magnet for local and international arts enthusiasts.
