Simon Fraser University is ranked for the second year running as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.

Mediacorp Canada Inc., Canada’s largest publisher of employment-related periodicals and online directories, organizes the annual competition, the results of which appear in Maclean’s magazine. The issue containing this year’s competition results is on newsstands now.

The top 100 were chosen from a list of 16,000 invited employers that included 10,000 of the fastest growing employers in Canada and 6,000 other companies and organizations.

On-site daycare, summer day-camp programs for employees’ children and free fitness facilities were cited as some of the reasons employees liked working at SFU.

In 2007, Today’s Parent Magazine named SFU one of Canada’s top 10 family-friendly employers. That year, SFU was the only post-secondary institution and one of only two B.C. employers to make the list.

In addition to its first campus atop Burnaby Mountain, SFU has campuses in downtown Vancouver and Surrey. It also has a program in Kamloops.
