2008 marks the 200th anniversary of Simon Fraser’s epic journey down the mighty river that bears his name. At Simon Fraser University, we are proud to uphold his name and recognize this milestone. These events are free and open to the public.

Join acclaimed Vancouver Sun journalist and award-winning author Stephen Hume for a lively retelling of Simon Fraser’s arduous journey from the Rockies to the mouth of the Fraser in 1808. Pick up a copy of his new book and have it signed by the author after the presentation.

Share the exciting journey of 12 First Nations youth from across B.C. who rafted down the mighty Fraser – one of the world’s most diverse and dangerous river systems - to explore the past, present and future of aboriginal life in B.C. This 50-minute documentary was directed and produced by SFU’s Learning and Instructional Development centre.

This riveting documentary will be shown at all three SFU campuses:
