North Burnaby community members, business people, local experts and students will come together for a dialogue, “ConservAction: The Power is Yours,” on shaping the community’s energy future, 6 pm, Wednesday, Nov. 17 at the Lochdale Hall (490 Sperling Ave, Burnaby). Students from Simon Fraser University’s Undergraduate Semester in Dialogue are organizing the event.

Participants will develop personal and community responses to the toughest energy questions facing North Burnaby. They will seek solutions to energy issues, envisioning an economically, environmentally and socially healthy future for energy use and conservation. A free dinner at 5 pm precedes the dialogue. Registration: www.conservaction-dialogue.com

SFU’s Undergraduate Semester in Dialogue strives to inspire students with a sense of civic responsibility, encourage their passion to improve Canadian society, and develop innovative intellectual tools for effective problem solving. Each semester an original and intensive learning experience uses dialogue to focus student education on public issues. The students collaborate to organize a community dialogue related to the focus topic.
