Simon Fraser University's extended community, including alumni, students, staff, faculty, retirees and their families and friends are invited to reconnect at the university’s Homecoming 2010 on Saturday, Oct. 2.

The first homecoming event to be held at SFU, it will reunite alumni with their alma mater and celebrate SFU’s athletic teams—the first in Canada to compete in the NCAA.

Bernie Maroney, president of the SFU Alumni Association says, "Our first SFU Homecoming event will be a great opportunity for alumni to engage with each other and the university. We're excited to bring them back ‘to the hill’ to see the changes SFU has experienced in recent years.”

The day kicks off with fun activities for all ages, live music performances by Phase III Steel Drum band ad great food, followed by a football game between two teams that have yet to play each other, the SFU Clan and Dixie State College Red Storm.

There will be relay activities, campus tours, face painting, photos with Clan football players and SFU’s mascot, McFogg the Dog and a variety of prizes, including a Dell laptop, digital camera, an SFU Continuing studies voucher and an array of gift certificates.
