Representatives from Simon Fraser University Woodward’s, the City of Vancouver, and Pivot Legal Society will be available May 5 to speak about an upcoming event regarding the Insite supervised injection site.

The May 17 discussion, Health, Harm Reduction and the Law: The Insite Case and the Future of Canadian Drug Policy, will explore details of the federal government’s appeal of the Supreme Court of Canada decision to allow Vancouver’s Insite facility to operate.

Pivot campaigns director Darcie Bennett, City of Vancouver drug policy coordinator Donald MacPherson, and SFU Woodward’s community engagement coordinator Am Johal can talk about the event, which will review what the court’s decision will mean for people living with addictions and the future of Canadian drug policy.

WHEN:           Thursday, May 5, 11:30 am

CORRECTION
(06 May 2011)
The above errs in referring to Donald MacPherson as City of Vancouver drug policy coordinator. He is, in fact, a former holder of that position. Thus the advisory errs in saying that the City of Vancouver would be represented.
