SFU grads get ready for spring Convocation

More than 3,000 students will celebrate the completion of their degrees during Simon Fraser University’s spring Convocation ceremonies June 2 – 5. They’ll join the ranks of more than 100,000 SFU alumni worldwide.
At the start of the ceremonies, which begin at 9:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. each day (with the exception of June 2, which is held in the afternoon only) graduating students will join in processions led down the steps into Convocation Mall by SFU’s world-renowned pipe band.
Honorary degrees will be conferred on Burnaby river conservationist Mark Angelo (Wed. a.m.), architect Richard Henriquez (Wed. p.m.), broadcaster Rafe Mair (Thurs. a.m.), philanthropist Djavad Mowafaghian (Thurs. p.m.) and biomedical engineer James McEwen (Fri. p.m.) For background click here.

Tuesday, June 2, 2:30 p.m.: Faculty of Business Administration
Wednesday, June 3, 9:45 a.m.: Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (Bachelor of General Science only)
Wednesday, June 3, 2:30 p.m.: Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, including anthropology, archaeology, Canadian studies, first nations studies, French, geography, history, Latin American studies, liberal studies, political science, publishing, sociology, women’s studies
Thursday, June 4, 9:45 a.m.: Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, including contemporary arts, economics, English, fine arts, linguistics, public policy, urban studies, world literature
Thursday, June 4, 2:30 p.m.: Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, including cognitive science, criminology, gerontology, humanities, international leadership, international studies, mathematics, philosophy, psychology, statistics and special arrangements
Friday, June 5, 9:45 a.m.: Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences
Friday, June 5, 2:30 p.m.: Faculty of Applied Sciences, including engineering science and Kinesiology, Faculty of Education
