Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Public Opinion and Political Representation (CPOPR) has assembled a group of panelists to examine the federal election. They’ll assess the issues to date and directions the vote may take at a roundtable discussion at SFU Vancouver’s Harbour Centre campus on Thursday, April 14, from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
The session is free and open to everyone with an interest in the May 2 federal election.
SFU political scientist and moderator David Laycock says panelists share a wide range of polling, public policy, media and Canadian election expertise. They include:
Angus Reid, founder and CEO of Angus Reid Public Opinion and Vision Critical, and an internationally known public opinion research leader;
Doug McArthur, a long-time senior public servant and public policy specialist, teaching at SFU's School of Public Policy;
Francois Petry, a specialist on public opinion and public policy, and 2010-11 Visiting Fellow at the CPOPR and political science professor at the Université Laval, Quebec;
Ken Carty, a specialist on Canadian political parties and elections, and Professor, Department of Political Science, UBC;
Rod Mickleburgh, a senior reporter and columnist for the Globe and Mail’s BC edition.
