ATTENTION ASSIGNMENT EDITORS:

Simon Fraser University President Michael Stevenson will open SFU's new Surrey campus on Friday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. He will be joined by Premier Gordon Campbell and Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts. Campus tours will also be offered.

The opening festivities continue Saturday with a community open house (noon-4 p.m.) featuring demonstrations, exhibits, cultural events and music. See www.surrey.sfu.ca/opening for more details.

Friday, Sept. 8, 10 a.m. Opening ceremony (Mezzanine level); 11 a.m. – tours

Saturday, Sept. 9, 12 noon - 4 p.m., Open house
