A generous $750,000 donation from BMO Financial Group will fund graduate business student scholarships and support renovations to Simon Fraser University's new Segal graduate school of business.

The new school will open in September 2005 in the Bank of Montreal's former Vancouver headquarters -- a class A heritage building on the corner of Pender and Granville Streets.

The gift is the largest that BMO Financial has ever made to SFU, with $350,000 designated to the new school's lower vault lobby and student commons area and $400,000 assigned to BMO Financial Group Graduate School of Business scholarships. These funds will provide financial support for advanced business studies for decades to come, with students benefiting from $20,000 each year in scholarships.

The Segal graduate school of business will house all of SFU's graduate business studies programs as well as several new business and financial research centres and specially designed meeting space for downtown business education events and activities.
